We use the term Hyphen-Me(s) to refer to those individuals who have spent significant parts of their lives in countries or cultures that are not native to them.
Hyphen-Me(s) covers a wide range of cross-cultural groups such as international adoptees; foreign exchange students; immigrants and children of immigrants; interacial couples and children of bi-cultural parents; refugees and children of refugees; and international workers and their children, also known as "third culture kids" or "TCK."
Hyphen-Me(s) have absorbed and integrated to the cultural ways of "collectivism" and/or "individualism."
Our platform offers products and services from professionals skilled in identifying and providing solutions to cultural-related problems.
To help Hyphen-Me(s) succeed in their personal and professional journeys, these specialists offer expert counseling, coaching services, educational workshops, and much more. They are advocates, attorneys, authors, consultants, educators, keynote speakers, social workers, therapists, and other specialists, dedicated to serving and improving the lives of Hyphen-Me(s).
To bridge one of the most significant but underestimated issues in our world today - cultural differences.
We aim to achieve this by offering products and services that are as diverse as the cross-cultural individuals and groups we serve.
In today's globalized world, we no longer have to travel to foreign destinations to meet with someone from a different ethnic background. Demographically, where we live, who we work for, the people we work with and the customers we serve are becoming more diverse, ethnically and racially.
The problem with cultural differences is that they are invisible; we can't see or touch them, which makes it so easy for any of us to overlook and underestimate their power. This is where cultural differences can quietly sabotage business deals, obstruct relationships, and deny us the promotion we're after and the recognition we thought we deserved.
If allowed to go unchecked, cultural diffences will lead us to the path of lifelong misunderstanding, fear, and confusion.
Wayne Gretzky stated, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." In the arena of cultural differences, if one doesn't know which shots to take and which ones to block, one cannot succeed. Our goal is to not only help Hyphen-Me(s) compete - we help them win.
